Where this comes from

The research process and the rules each program publishes. Every one of these is attached to a step, and a student working here meets it on the day they are doing that step rather than on a page they read once in August.

A club keeps its own list as well, about its own teachers and its own seasons, written by officers who watched something go wrong. That one is not public, because it names people.

Knowing these is not the same as remembering them in March.

Signing in attaches each of these to the thing you are actually doing: the warning about a literature review arrives while you are writing one, and the one about signature order arrives before it can no longer be fixed.
